Get a preliminary welding procedure specification (pWPS)
The purpose to guide welders to the accepted procedures so that repeatable and trusted welding techniques are used. A WPS is developed for each material alloy and for each welding type used. There are two types of welding procedure specifications.
A preliminary/pre-qualified welding procedure specification (pWPS) is a document containing required variables of the welding procedure which needs to be qualified in order to create the qualified welding procedure specification (WPS).
SCOPE OF WORK
Based on the customer's input on type of material, dimensions and joint configuration, the pWPS will be prepared. This work is carried out by Sandvik welding engineers, utilizing their welding expertise and extensive database of weld joints and material data. Sandvik has long experience in providing preliminary welding procedure specifications for welding of stainless steels and other high alloyed materials.
Standardised Sandvik pWPS report. See example here.
Normal delivery time is one working week.
In order to prepare a pWPS, Sandvik needs to know which shape, thickness, grades, welding method and joint type. Use the input form when placing orders.
