Test methods

Complete chemical analysis of a high alloyed steel (Fe<90%), several test methods may be used for the complete anlysis. The most suitable method for each element will be choosen by our lab.

Standards

X-Ray Flourescence (XRF) according to ASTM E572

Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) according to ASTM E1086

Combustion analysis according to ASTM E1019

*If the sample needs remelting, non accredited analysis methods are used.

Al, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Mo, Nb, Ni, P, Si, Sn, Ta, Ti, W, V, Zr, As, B, C, S

Sample dimension requirements

Your test sample need to be flat. If the sample is round min diameter is 32 mm, max diameter is 55 mm and max height is 35 mm. If the sample is square the min dimension is 32x32x35 mm and max dimension is 34x34x35 mm. If your sample is bigger than required size you can ad extra sample preparation to your order. Please note that if your sample need remelting, as in the case of analysing wire, Ti and Al can not be guaranteed to be analysed.

Requirements of sample contamination

If your sample is in any way contaminated by any of the following; explosives, oxidizing, flammable, toxic or radioactive elements or is in any other way harmful, you need to make a request for quotation

Normal delivery, after sample has been received by us is 2-4 days.
