Method of analyses
Complete chemical analysis of a low alloyed steel (Fe>85%), using optical emission spectroscopy and combustion analysis.
Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) according to ASTM E1086
Combustion analysis according to ASTM E1019
This method is accredited according to SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025. For details*:
*If the sample needs remelting, non accredited analysis methods are used.
Elements that will be analysed
Al, As, Cr, Cu, Mn, Mo, Nb, Ni, P, Si, Sn, Ti, V, W, Zn, C, S, N
Sample dimension requirements
The maximum size of the sample in total is 100x100 mm and with a height of 80 mm. At least one surface of the sample must be flat and the flat surface must ha diameter of at least 15 mm. If your sample is bigger than required size you can ad extra sample preparation to your order. Please note that if your sample need remelting, as in the case of analysing wire, Ti and Al can not be guaranteed to be analysed.
Requirements of sample contamination
If your sample is in any way contaminated by any of the following; explosives, oxidizing, flammable, toxic or radioactive elements or is in any other way harmful, you need to make a request for quotation.
Normal delivery, after sample has been received by us is 2-4 days.
